The following are things that I think are required reading for anyone
developing applications or content for the web.
- The W3C's URI
style guide - "Cool URIs don't change"
- Joel Spolsky's rant about character encodings, aptly entitled "The
Absolute Minimum Every Software Developer Absolutely, Positively

kernel coding style - the style guide for the largest
collaborative software development effort in the history of mankind.
Required reading for programmers of all types, including those working
on the web.
